Book Review (My First ever post :O )
This is my first actual post! Ahhh! I'm not sure if I'm more nervous or excited haha Anyway, I decided to start off by doing a book review ( I know boring! ) and you've probably guessed by the cover but it's The Fault In Our Stars.
If you haven't read the book (or seen the movie), The Fault in our Stars is based on a terminal cancer patient (Hazel) who meets a boy in remission (Augustus) at a teenage support group. The two become friends and eventually fall for each other. With Augustus' wish from the Genies Foundation, he decides to take Hazel to Amsterdam to meet her favourite author. Augustus gives Hazel a new outlook at life and shows her that she can live it to the fullest. (This is a crap summary of the story, but I didn't want to give to much away.)
When I first started reading this book, I really liked the way John Green portrayed Hazel. She is such a realistic character and Augustus in a way is her knight in shining armor. I found that Hazel was a little bitter about life, but with Augustus she was able to see the beauty of it too. The story is beautiful, humorous but also a tragedy. Its filled with lifes ups and downs, our triumphs and mistakes. If you do plan on reading this story ( or even watching the movie) bring a box of tissues as I guarantee your going to need them.
Not only is this book for teenagers, its also for anyone whose ever been one.
4.5/5 Stars
