The Tips and Tricks To Foundation

Hi Munchkins!

Today I have finally found the time to create a blog post, a guide to finding the perfect foundation. As its a change of seasons, I thought this would be perfect.

When I first began my make-up collection, I was quite confused by the different types and colours avalible. What are the differences between dewy and powder foundation? What colour is right for my skin tone? These were just some of the questions circling in my head. I was afraid that I had chosen a foundation which was too dark and didn't do the coverage I was after. After many trail and errors I thought it would be a great idea to share my experiences with you all.

When I was 14, I bought my first foundation. I didn't have a job, so my first mistake was buying the cheapest foundation I could find. If I was to describe it in one word - terrible. My face looked orange, completely mismatching my pale complexion. By the end of the day, my make-up had completely fallen off my face.

Tip #1 - Don't ignore your skin type.
After all the different foundations I have used, the first tip that comes to mind is finding a foundation which suits your skin type. I have very dry skin, so I prefer to use a dewy or liquid foundation whereas my sister had quite oily skin and prefers to use powders. There are many different types of foundations (Matte, Dewy, Powder, etc) which can suit your skin as well as giving you the amount of coverage your after.

Tip #2 - Quality
As saying I always like to follow, its quality over quantity. With make-up it doesn't matter how much you spend, but the quality of the product. Does it feel good on? Does it match your skin complexion? Does it look good on your skin? If so, then it is probably a good quality product which won't damage your skin and will suit your skin type. If your still having trouble with deciding on which foundation to use, read reviews on websites, see what others think of the product. Again, your going to have to do your homework with this one.

Tip #3 - Shade
Like I stated previously, when I had first tried foundation, I had chosen the completely wrong shade. . . In saying this, if you blend foundation into your hand and reflect it in the sunlight, it should show you if that tone matches your skin. Don't be afraid to mix foundations as well, as blending a darker tone with a light one might actually work for your skin.

Tip #4 - Trial and error
Sometimes, it may take you many tries to find the right foundation for you. Even if you get it wrong the first time, you can always try again. So when you buy your next foundation, you'll know what to look for.

I hoped this helped some of you out there, and i hope your all enjoying your Christmas break.

Lazy Sunday

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hey Munchkins!

It has been officially a month since my last blog post and I am really truly sorry. With heaps of University assignments and exam block on the way, things have been a little hectic. Finally, I have managed to find time and have a lazy day.

My day consisted of  Facebook. Youtube and blogging, things which I have been using to procrastinate my assignments. For once I didn't feel guilty that I should be doing my assignments or studying for my exams and I could actually enjoy the things which I like to do. When your in a stressful situation, you kinda forget what its like to relax. It wasn't until I walked out of the house with my joggers on that I remembered, how peaceful the world was. The quiet serenity, the relaxing atmosphere and the beautiful rays of sunshine, natures gifts taken for granted. How could I keep myself locked away when there is a wonderful world to discover. Since when did the world become so  wrapped up with work and money that we became oblivious to the beauty around us?

Pressure. That's my answer. The pressure of earning a decent income, the pressure to achieve good grades, the pressure to be perfect. I can't honestly remember a time where I wasn't pressured into doing something. Whether it was peer-pressure or my sub-conscious constantly nagging, that unwanted presence had still been there. With this pressure, you begin to forget how fast time goes. I literally woke-up this morning and freaked out when I realized that 2015 is only 2.5 months away. 2014 had gone past so quickly that I have barely had time to reflect upon it. I had barely taken anytime to think about myself.

Today's different. Today I make a change. Although I am still going to pressure myself to achieve decent grades and doing various other things, I am going to make the time for myself. Despite knowing that my spare time is limited, I am going to start finding time slots to give myself this free time. I am going to put myself first. All this recent stress has taken its toll especially for my mental well-being. Once, everyday, I am going to put on my jogging shoes and walk out the front door. I'm going to listen to the birds chirp and watch the sun set under a giant eucalyptus tree. After all, when was the last time you had given time to yourself?

September Music Favourites

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hi Munchkins!

After quite a stressful week, I can't explain how music managed to keep me swimming. For the sad times and the happy, I have come up with my September music favourites.

For the sad times: Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud

This song is absolutely beautiful. I personally love Ed Sheeran's music and I find this one is perfect for the times where you just want to cry. I know that I shouldn't be recommending sad music, but I find that having a good cry and just letting it all out is one of the best ways to clear your head.

For the happy: Jessie J Ft. Nicki & Ariana - Bang Bang
This is currently my go to party song. Whenever I'm heading to Uni or going for a long drive, I put this song on and jam out in car seat. Whenever this song plays, I sing it out loud. I know this song is currently very popular and is soon to be over played, but this song is currently one of my favourites.

Stress reliever: Waves Crashing

I'm not sure if this is just me, but I find the sound of the beach or waves crashing in the sand a huge stress reliever. Whenever I listen to this, I imagine I am sleeping on the sand, sleeping on the beach. It certainly clears my thoughts, reminding their are calm times after the storm.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! What are some of your current music favourites?

The Beauty Tag

Hi Munchkins!

So today I have decided to do another tag. This one is called 'The Beauty Tag' and I thought I would give it a go.
I hope you guys enjoy!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Its naturally wavy- curly. It depends on the weather to be honest.

My natural hair is a brownish but because of sun damage the ends are more blonde.

About 2-3 times a week.

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?

Meet Luna

The day has finally come. A couple of weeks ago, my family got the news that we were going to be given a little puppy. Nervous and excited, we began to 'puppy proof'' the house. Hiding shoes, cleaning the floors and buying plenty of chew toys, we began to think we were ready for another dog. We have raised a puppy before so we knew what we expecting... or did we? It had been 10 years since the last puppy and it is amazing what you forget. The poo's in the house, the sharp little teeth and constant need for cuddles are just to name a few.

Picking her up for the first time was bittersweet. Her fur felt soft, her were little teeth sharp and ready to chew and her beautiful, gorgeous face.  Her playful antics also remind us of our previous dog Hermione. Unfortunately we hadn't escaped those cheeky aspects. So far she has attempted to chew my onesie and my last pair of ballet flats. Although she is quite mischievous and naughty sometimes, I couldn't imagine my life without her.

In saying that, I thought I would share some pictures with you all. Do you have a dog? If so, what breed?

Hopefully you all have a lovely day,

Amy x

How much does my face cost?

Hi guys!

So I have seen many bloggers do this in the past and I thought I would give it a try. It is the 'How much does my face cost' challenge. I am actually quite nervous about doing this because I have a feeling I am spending a lot more on make-up and face products then I realise. But here it goes!

(Prices are all in AUD)

Before I start:
Simple Moisturising Face Wash - $9.99
Simple Hydrating Moisturiser - $9.99

Base:
Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer- $14.95
Rimmel True Match Foundation - $17.95
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder  - $12.95
Maybelline Fit Me Blush - $14.95

Eyes:
Maybelline Colourshow pencil - $6.95
Rimmel Max Mascara - $9.95
Calvin Klein Eyeshadow - (I can't find the price of this)

Lips:
Maybelline Baby Lips - $3.95
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick - $10.95

All together my face costs : $112.58

I know a lot of people spend a lot more on make-up but $112.58 is a lot! I have to admit though I only buy make-up when it is on special, so I don't pay the RRP price most of the time. How much does your face cost? It would be interesting to see how much others spend on their faces as well. I tag everyone to do this challenge.

Go on take the challenge!

Style Inspiration: Emma Roberts

Hey guys!

So actress, Emma Roberts always manages to pull off an edgy, casual and feminine look. I find her outfits are perfect for going to University or even just having a nice, casual lazy day. Her feminine and classy dresses as well as her big chunky gold necklaces add an extra quirk to her outfits and a great for going to parties. Its a friendly reminder that you don't always have to go all out to look your best.

Hope you enjoy some of these outfits! These are just some of my favourites.
Who is your current style icon?
