Hi Munchkins! 

So today I have decided to do another tag. This one is called 'The Beauty Tag' and I thought I would give it a go.
I hope you guys enjoy!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

Its naturally wavy- curly. It depends on the weather to be honest.

2. What is your natural hair colour?

My natural hair is a brownish but because of sun damage the ends are more blonde.

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I haven't dyed my hair.

4. How often do you wash your hair?

About 2-3 times a week.

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?

Well, I try to wear different cloths everyday but I don't have very many. So at the moment I would say I'm wearing roughly the same styles but I do try and change it up with accessories. 

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I have a habit of chewing my nails. So I usually go to a salon and get fake nails done so they don't look as bad. 

7. How often to you change your nail polish?

I don't actually wear nail polish, I'm afraid they make my nails look worse :P

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter, too or just in the summer?

No I just polish them in summer.

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?

About half and hour, I don't like to spend to much time. In saying that, sometimes I end up doing it in the car because I've run out of time.

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Face. I find if I start off with a base I can work my way up.

11. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I collect a little bit.The high quality make-up products I rarely use because they are very expensive. So I collect them and use them for special occasions.

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I have only worn them once. They look pretty but I find them uncomfortable.

13. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?

Not everyday. I usually have one day a week where I don't  wear any make-up on.

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?

Not usually. But if my family comes over then I'll wear a BB cream.

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?

No. I have to wear at least something.

16. How many high end products do you have?

I don't have many. I only have one lipstick I think.

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?

I wash them once a week, but I sometimes I forget...

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?
I usually plan in the morning. However, if I want to wear something specifically I make sure its washed the night before.

 19. How often do you change your handbag?

I don't actually change my handbag. I only have one which I use for UNI.

20. What time do you get up & go to sleep?

I usually go to sleep at 10pm wake up at around 7:30-8.

21. How often & when do you workout?

Very Rarely. I usually run with the dog but I have been very lazy lately.

22. Left-handed or Right-handed?

Right-handed.

23. How tall are you?

5'8"

24. Do you speak a foreign language?

I know very basic Chinese and French. 

25. How many pets do you have?

I have two dogs. One is Luna and the other is Harvey, they are both Spoodles.

26. How often are you on Blogger?

As often as I can. But with UNI and everything else, it gets a bit hard sometimes.

27. Do you read the comments posted blogs?

Yes, I do. 

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

I make note of them mentally, I don't keep a list.

29. How did you come up with your blog name?

I got the name for my blog because it is literally my little hideaway. So thats how I came up with the name.

30. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?

I'm currently using my very old digital camera. Its a Sony.

31. How often do you clean your house? (Daily, weekly, other)

Not as much as I should, haha.

32. What is your favourite colour?

Light Blue

 33. Do you swear?

Yes, quite a bit.

I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week. At the moment life is a bit busy but I'll try and post more often.

Meet Luna

The day has finally come. A couple of weeks ago, my family got the news that we were going to be given a little puppy. Nervous and excited, we began to 'puppy proof'' the house. Hiding shoes, cleaning the floors and buying plenty of chew toys, we began to think we were ready for another dog. We have raised a puppy before so we knew what we expecting... or did we? It had been 10 years since the last puppy and it is amazing what you forget. The poo's in the house, the sharp little teeth and constant need for cuddles are just to name a few. 

Picking her up for the first time was bittersweet. Her fur felt soft, her were little teeth sharp and ready to chew and her beautiful, gorgeous face.  Her playful antics also remind us of our previous dog Hermione. Unfortunately we hadn't escaped those cheeky aspects. So far she has attempted to chew my onesie and my last pair of ballet flats. Although she is quite mischievous and naughty sometimes, I couldn't imagine my life without her.

So I have seen many bloggers do this in the past and I thought I would give it a try. It is the 'How much does my face cost' challenge. I am actually quite nervous about doing this because I have a feeling I am spending a lot more on make-up and face products then I realise. But here it goes!

I know a lot of people spend a lot more on make-up but $112.58 is a lot! I have to admit though I only buy make-up when it is on special, so I don't pay the RRP price most of the time. How much does your face cost? It would be interesting to see how much others spend on their faces as well. I tag everyone to do this challenge.

Style Inspiration: Emma Roberts

Hey guys!

So actress, Emma Roberts always manages to pull off an edgy, casual and feminine look. I find her outfits are perfect for going to University or even just having a nice, casual lazy day. Her feminine and classy dresses as well as her big chunky gold necklaces add an extra quirk to her outfits and a great for going to parties. Its a friendly reminder that you don't always have to go all out to look your best.

The '40 Beauty Questions' Tag

Hey guys! 

So after seeing many Youtubers and Bloggers do this tag, I thought I would give it a go. I hope you enjoy it!

Skincare:

-How many times do you wash your face daily? Once in the morning and once before I go to bed.

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo) My skin is very dry and sensitive. When I buy facial washes I have to get ones which hydrates as well.

-What is your current facial wash? Simple's Kind To Skin Moisturizing Face Wash. 

-Do you exfoliate? Very, Very rarely. (I really need to do it more often.)

-What brand do you use? The last brand I used was Neutrogena

-What moisturizer do you use? At the moment I'm using Simple's Hydrating Moisturiser, but Im summer I use a Nivea hydrating sunscreen,

-Do you have freckles? Yes, They appear a lot more in Summer and when my skin is very dry.

-Do you use eye cream? Yes

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin? I wouldn't say acne, but occasionally I would get quite a few spots on my face. 

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ? No

Makeup

-What foundation do you use? Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation.

-How about concealer? Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer.

-Do you know your undertone colour? Because I'm quite fair, mine are a little pink.

-What do you think of false eyelashes? They look good, but I don't like wearing them. Mascara is enough for me.

-Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months? No I didn't. But my mascara's usually run out around that time. 

-What brand of mascara do you use? I have a collection on Rimmel, Maybelline and Max Factor.

-Sephora or MAC? Probably MAC, I have never heard of the other brand but I did have MAC make-up on for my formal and I must admit it was really nice.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card? No.

-What makeup tools do you use in makeup application? I have the Real Techniques duo fiber and core collection kit which I LOVE!! I also have some others from Nude by Nature.

-Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes? No I currently don't.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)? I really like smoky browns. I only have a small Maybelline palette and the moment.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner? I'm using brown pencil eyeliners at the moment. I have never actually tried the liquid eyeliners. 

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil? Haha not that often. But then again I rarely use eye liners. 

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? They stay on a very long time. I love using them when I'm going out for the day. 

-Do you use mineral makeup? Not usually

-What is your favorite lipstick? Rimmel's Kate Moss lipstick is the shade 16. 

-How about lipgloss? I dont actually own any lip glosses.

-What is your favorite blush to use? I'm currently using one from Rimmel, I have yet to try other brands. 

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay? I don't buy any make-up from Ebay, but I have bought my make-up brushes from there. 

-Do you like drugstore makeup? I'm not sure if you can tell already but yes.  

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets) No

-Did you ever consider taking makeup classes? Not really. I like to try out different things. I don't plan on becoming a make-up artist in the near future.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup? When I am in a rush, then yes.

-Name a makeup crime that you hate? When people put to much powder in their eyebrows, need I say more. 

-Do you like colourful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones? Neutral, I don't like to go all out.

-Which celebrity always has great makeup? I really like Emma Watson's make-up.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use? My mascara. I don't think i can live without it.

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on? Probably not. I don't feel as confident without it.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on? No I don't think I do.

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line? High end brands probably MAC but otherwise Rimmel.

-What do you think of Makeup?? I love it!

How to: Finding a decent make-up brush

The small amount of brushes in my collection :)

I'm not sure about you, but when I search for a decent make-up brush the brushes are only available online or overseas. They are usually really expensive and that's not even including shipping! So today, I thought I would give out advice on what to look for in a make-up brush in your local chemist, supermarket or local make-up store. So have no fear! Amy's advice is here!

What should I look for?
Look for a brush which is made from good quality fibers. The softer and higher density of the fibers in a brush usually means that the brush is better quality.

How big should the brush be?
That depends. If your looking for a powder brush, then go for a wide brush which which is filled with thick, soft and a high density of bristles. The larger brush means you can cover more area and the high density of bristles allow you to collect more powder. If your looking for a blush brush then go for one which is roughly the size of the apples on your cheeks. Again, make sure the brush has a high density of fibers. Eye brushes

How do I know that the fibers won't fall out of the brush?
Most drug and make-up stores have their brushes on display. If this is the case then I recommend the 'squeeze' test.  Pinch the top of the brush and gently pull. If bristles fall out then you know the brush is not at the highest of qualities. If the bristles are firmly in place even after pulling a little harder, then the bristles are unlikely to fall out any time soon. However, if the brushes aren't on display and you are still  not sure then I would recommend to read reviews online. Some bloggers might have used the brushes and put their thoughts about them on their blog.

Why is the density of fibers important?
If you want an even complexion and a brush which allows you to blend easily, then the density of fibers matters. The higher the density, the smoother and easier the application will be.

Does the length of the handle matter?
It doesn't matter at all. It all depends on which one you like best.

How do i know if the brushes are environmentally friendly?
Usually on the back of the packaging they will exemplify that their products are not made or tested on animals. With many advances in technology, the bristles in the brushes are made from very fine pieces of fiber. So they are just as soft if not softer as what make-up brushes use to be made from. The other end of the brushes are usually made from wood. You can also get alternative such as metal and bamboo which are more environmentally friendly.

Does weight matter?
No, it doesn't matter. Again, it is completely up to you and how you prefer your brushes.

I'm just starting out in make-up brushes, what do you suggest to get me started?
I would recommend starting off with drugstore brushes then going all out for the ones from MAC. You can usually get them in packs which is great if your just starting out. Start getting use to the techniques of make-up brushes before you start going all out on high end brands.

I hope this helps some of you out there. The brushes seen in the picture above are my absolute favourites. they are all good quality and are easy to blend foundation and eye shadows.

15 Random Questions Tag

A lot of Youtubers and Bloggers have done this, but to know me better I decided to do the 15 Random Questions Tag. Here it goes!!

1. What’s a nickname only your family calls you?I get Mimi a lot. Especially when my siblings were younger they couldn't pronounce Amy so instead they would say Mimi. 

2. What’s a weird habit of yours?Apparently I sleep talk. In saying that I apparently told people my darkest secrets.

3. Do you have any weird phobias?I'm not sure if it's weird but I'm afraid of loosing my teeth. I can't go to bed without flossing and brushing my teeth. Same in the morning, I refuse to leave the house unless my teeth are clean. I have had this habit for a while now

4. What’s a song you secretly love to blast & belt out when you’re alone?At the moment I'm belting out to Iggy Azeleas 'Fancy'. This one is my current favourite but give me a few weeks and it'll likely change. Sometimes its even Taylor Swift!

5. What’s one of your biggest pet peeves?I can't stand people who think they are better than everyone else. It really annoys me! 

6. What’s one of your nervous habits?I tend to bite my nails. I know its disgusting and I have no nails because of it but I am trying to break this habit. 

 7. What side of the bed do you sleep on?I dont really have a side. I look like a starfish when I'm asleep!

 8. What was your first stuffed animal & it’s name?My first stuffed animal was a pink teddy bear I've had since I was born. It has never had an actual name, I would just call it teddy.  

9. What’s the drink you always order at Starbucks?We don't have a local Starbucks, but if I'm in ton I'll usually got for an iced chocolate. They are so good!!

10. What’s the beauty rule you preach, but never actually practice?The beauty rule I preach is probably washing your face. I'm guilty of not doing this but washing your face reduces pimples! When I do take my make-up off I use a microfibre washer with some cleanser. The one I'm using at the moment is Simple, but Neutrogena works too :)

 11. Which way do you face in the shower?I'm usually facing towards the shower, especially if the water is really hot!! haha

12. Do you have any weird body skills?I have this creepy thing with my eyes. I can actually vibrate them and it freaks people out. I've done this to some colleges at work at they just give me strange looks, it is fun though!

13. What’s your favorite comfort food that ‘bad’ but you love to eat it anyways?HOT CHIPS. Literally anything potato works with me.

 14. What’s a phrase or exclamation you always say?'Whats Crack-a-lackin' is probably my most used one. Also instead of saying goodbye I will use 'see ya!' or 'have fun'

15. Time to sleep!! What are you actually wearing?I'm currently wearing my rabbit onesie. In summer though I usually wear a set of pyjamas.
